Position Description:
The Recovery Support Services Director will provide direct leadership and supervision of peer- and community-based recovery support programming and services delivered by peer recovery support specialist staff working within community-based recovery support programs and initiatives at Unity Recovery. The Recovery Support Services Director will work under the guidance of the Executive Director, the National Recovery Support Services Director, the Director of Operations, and their local Recovery Support Services director to facilitate the engagement of individuals who may benefit from community-based recovery support services, including the delivering of direct peer recovery support services, employment and vocational support, and group-based social support. The Recovery Support Services Director will support a program team in the delivery of services in-person, digitally, and virtually as is appropriate.
Essential Duties:
- Work a minimum of 4 in person days per week as scheduled and have availability of at least one weekend day each week.
- Provide oversight and direct supervision of recovery support programs peer specialist staff.
- Facilitate daily shift debriefs, as well as weekly individual supervision, and monthly group supervision in partnership with the local Recovery Support Services Director.
- Provide peer-based recovery support services to individuals contemplating or actively seeking help with behavioral health recovery as needed.
- Engage in relationship building and management with community, business, and governmental partners as needed to further the reach and impact of recovery support services and programming;
- Administrative duties to include program and activities scheduling, staff schedules, data tracking and entry, monthly service engagement reports, and regular communication via digital platforms.
- Implement and maintain the Unity Community-based Recovery Support Services program.
- Support the operation of other Unity programs and their respective pogram directors as requested and is applicable.
- Ability to read and interpret financial reports and make service and programming recommendations to Executive Leadership based upon this information.
- Conduct self in an ethical manner by adhering to the PCB codes of ethics.
- Follow and adhere to the recovery bill of rights.
Daily Job Responsibilities:
- Provide recovery support to individuals for every phase of the recovery and re-entry journey from pre-recovery engagement, recovery initiation, recovery stabilization, and sustained recovery.
- Identify emergency or crisis situations and facilitate access to appropriate resources, negotiating and connecting individuals with resources and navigating systems.
- Provide direct daily supervision of peer staff to include real-time feedback loops, problem solving, and recommendations as needed.
- Assist in the development and enhancement of peer staff professional growth, including training and education in ethics, recovery support service delivery, resource navigation, and other topics as relevant
- Direct the organizations collaboration and partnerships with institutions to provide effective recovery support services to identified individuals.
- Maintain project logs, reports, and accurate records in appropriate files and database(s), adhering to program standards.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding information received during the facilitation of services – including current understanding of federal, state and local confidentiality rules and regulations.
- Engage in continuing professional development relative to recovery support services, applying practical and professional knowledge and experience. Maintain CRSS, CRS, CPS, or CFRS credential and attain new credentials as appropriate.

Compensation: $52,000-$60,320 salary range. Includes optional health, dental, and vision benefits; 401k with company match after 1 year of service; unlimited PTO; and other benefits as designated by the organization.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Certified Recovery Specialist, Certified Peer Specialist, or Certified Family Recovery Specialist with at least three years of experience working in community-based recovery settings, and at least one year of experience supervising peer staff in a community-based recovery setting.
- High degree of technological literacy, or willingness to acquire these skills as part of employment
- Background check may be required for staff that will work with youth, inside criminal justice settings, or other settings as determined by Executive Leadership.
- Reliable and insured personal transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Recovery Specialist Supervisor or completion of Certified Peer Specialist Supervisor training
- Experience managing a recovery-centric peer services program in a community-based setting, including managing peer support staff, and maintaining community and business partnerships.
- Experience managing a grant-funded program, including budgeting, achieving deliverables, and completion of required reporting.
