Who We Are
The Mental Health Association of Franklin County, Inc. is a peer-run organization serving Franklin and Fulton counties in south-central Pennsylvania and was founded in 1959 with a mission to actively help and promote mental wellness through advocacy, education, prevention, social action, supportive employment, and the support of research and legislation. We envision a just, humane and healthy society in which all people are accorded respect, dignity and the opportunity to achieve their full potential free from stigma and prejudice.
The Mental Health Association of Franklin County, Inc. is seeking its next Chief Executive Officer to be the face of this peer-run organization and lead it through its next phase of growth. This person, in collaboration with the Board of Directors, will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and the continued growth of the organization. Moreover, this person will be responsible for the organization’s consistent achievement of its mission and financial objectives.
MHAFF has a vibrant and effective stand- alone peer services program providing services to adults and transition aged youth.
As a bi-county organization, the Chief Executive Officer will:
*have oversight over day-to-day business and services in Franklin and Fulton counties of south-central Pennsylvania,
*provide leadership in program development and implementation,
*provide leadership in long-range strategic planning,
*publicize organizational activities, programs, and goals,
*motivate a diverse staff and volunteers,
*work cooperatively with the Management Team, staff, volunteers, stakeholders, and the BoD.
As a peer-run organization, having lived experience and relevant work experience is
required. In addition, the following qualifications are desired:
*strong leadership, management, planning, and communication skills,
*ability to collaborate internally and externally,
*understanding of financial and business processes,
*strong knowledge and advocacy for peer issues,
*strong ability to promote self-determination and self-empowerment in others,
*a college degree is a plus but is not required.
