Position Description:
The AdvocacyWorx Supervisor at HopeWorx, Inc. leads a team of peer advocates who provide individual advocacy and advocacy training for adults who use mental health services in Montgomery County, PA. The Supervisor is responsible for planning, directing, developing, and managing mental health advocacy services, forensic peer advocacy services and Community Support Program (CSP) activities.
- Direct the organizational strategic planning to determine goals and scope of projects for the AdvocacyWorx program
- Supervise the team of peer advocates who provide advocacy training and one on one advocacy support
- Identify trends in individual advocacy and communicate those trends to the HopeWorx Board and the county Office of Behavioral Health
- Supervise and continue development of forensic peer advocacy, including the FYI class in Montgomery County Correctional Facility and in the Montgomery County community
- Participate in the Montgomery County CSP Committee
- Occasional weeknights may be required

- Ability to represent AdvocacyWorx at county networking meetings, including CSP, and other committees and workgroups as needed
- Ability to contribute to an inclusive environment of empowerment, promoting a “flat democracy” in the operations of AdvocacyWorx
- Able to delegate work and responsibilities among the advocacy team members
Communication
- Excellent people/social skills including the commitment to treating all constituents with dignity and respect
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are required, including the ability to write letters or articles for newsletters and reports
- Computer experience including working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience with presenting information one on one and to groups
Operations Skills
- PA Driver’s license is required
- Ability to multi-task in a busy work environment
- Experience with problem solving and working collaboratively with others on a team
