Peer Facilitator Training: LiveWell Depression Support Group (Philly)
Saturday, Jan. 20th 1:00-5pm & Saturday, Jan. 27th 1:00-5pm

Transforming lives through wellness education and peer support, the LIVEWELL PROGRAM® is a recovery and relapse reduction program that empowers people to be actively involved in their own depression treatment and mental health care. Our peer-led, experiential-learning (or activity-based) weekly depression support groups are always free and open-to-the-community, because we believe all people with depression should have equal access to information, support and hope.

In 2018, we intend to expand our weekly depression support groups to other Philadelphia neighborhoods, and will train new peer facilitators. Although a stipend will be provided for weekly materials (printing, copies, etc.), this is a VOLUNTEER POSITION. There is no contract of commitment for trained facilitators. However, we ask that you ONLY APPLY IF YOU CAN REALISTICALLY COMMIT TO FOUR HOURS PER MONTH (e.g., facilitate two, 1.5-hour support groups per month with prep/possible follow-up time) FOR APPROXIMATELY A ONE-YEAR PERIOD.

Job Requirements:

In order to qualify to be a LiveWell Depression Support Group Peer Facilitator, YOU MUST:
• have lived experience with and/or recovery from depression
• value the importance of supporting others to your own mental health care
• Be age 23+
We especially want to hear from you if:
• you are a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS)
• you have group facilitation experience
