Peer Support Specialist
Penn Psychiatric Center is seeking a part-time Certified Peer Specialist (up to 20 hours/week with the possibility of full-time) to work in the Chester and Montgomery county regions. This position is community based and requires frequent travel throughout Chester and Montgomery Counties.
Peer Support Specialists perform a wide range of tasks to support clients in living their own lives and directing their own recovery and wellness process.
Under Supervision, a Peer Specialist empowers clients to explore new options, resources, feelings, relationships and supports individuals by providing hope, encouragement, support, self-determination, and connections to the community. The Peer Support Specialist acts as an advocate for the rights and needs of clients served.
High school diploma or GED and certification as a peer specialist from and approved provider and 2 years equivalent full time work or volunteer experience in the last 3 years.
A Valid and current Certified Peer Specialist certification
A valid Pennsylvania Driver’s license with clean driving record may be required.
