Universal Community Behavioral Health (UCBH) is the continuum of the outpatient care system that The Meadows Psychiatric Center founded in July 1999. At this time, the facility recognized some of the challenges in rural areas surrounding the hospital and began a mission to extend behavioral health services by developing an array of programs based on community needs throughout surrounding counties.

The following are the job requirements for the Decision Support Center Peer Staff position:

The Decision Support Center Peer Staff provides direct service and care to consumers participating the Decision Support Center within the outpatient medication clinic. This innovation in the field of psychiatry proives peer support to people prior to medical appointments. Responsibilities include assisting the individual and identifying Personal Medicine, writing Power Statements, completion of the CommonGround software report and using decision making worksheets.

Job Requirements:

The following are the job requirements for the Decision Support Center Peer Staff position:

A. Background- An individual who demonstrates experience in providing MH Peer-to-Peer support focused on meaningful life roles and activities.
B. Education- Position requires a minimum 2 years of consistent work experience in the mental health field. High School Diploma, GED required, prefer minimum Associates Degree.

C. Experience- Significant experience in community health, public health, or mental health services, including at least 3 years of attaining progressive supervisory or management responsibility. Demonstrates competency as a computer end-user of assorted internet and email browsers, and possess intermediate to advanced skills in MS Word and Excel programs. Additional computer skills are a plus.

D. Peer Support Specialist Certification strongly preferred.
