Part-Time positions (Avg 15-20 hrs/week) Daytime hours

Position Description:

The Certified Peer Specialist must be willing to use his/her personal experience as a current or former recipient of mental health services to provide peer support on an individual and group basis. Services provided will include: community resource linkage, education, development of natural supports, modeling of recovery process and wellness management. Additionally, the Certified Peer Specialist is responsible for documentation of service provision and chart maintenance. The applicant must have good time management skills and be able to work independently. Also must have an understanding of recovery principles related to the needs of mental health consumers.

The individuals filling this positions will provide MA Billable peer support services to individuals with a mental health diagnosis, meeting medical necessity requirements, and who are residing in Lehigh and Northampton Counties.

Job Requirements:

• Pennsylvania Peer Specialist Certification
• Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License with a good driving record
• Ability to pass required background clearances and screenings
• Ability to manage own work schedule, set own appointments
• Detail oriented with good writing and organizational skills
• Ability to share personal experiences of recovery to offer hope and optimism to individuals that recovery is not only possible but probable
