Part time 18 hours per week, flexible choice of weekdays
The Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) performs a range of tasks through individual encounters to assist consumers in regaining control over their own lives and over their own recovery process. The CPS will role model competency in recovery and ongoing coping skills. The CPS also provides essential expertise and consultation to other team members in promoting a recovery-oriented culture and practice of service provision and in understanding the consumers’ perspective and experience. Services are provided in accordance with all existing policies, procedures and regulations and in accord with the mission and value of the company. Meet one to one in various locations including the person’s home, community, etc. Provide support in developing goals, teaching skills to obtain the goals and providing general support through recovery process. Lastly, completing documentation of the work done with consumer is also an important part of the job.
Must have received Peer Specialist Certification upon graduation of the Certified Peer Specialist Training. In addition, must have a high school diploma or general equivalence degree (GED). Valid Driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
